delightful 17th century inn features oak beamed
ceilings and open fires ensuring a very cosy atmosphere. There’s
also a Victorian style conservatory for those looking for more
light and airy surroundings. The Knife & Cleaver has an
award-winning restaurant where you can order dishes such as
medallions of Scottish venison with a carrot and celery confit
served with a rich red wine jus, or prime beef fillet with
mushroom crouton, pesto crust and Madeira jus.

itself as the ‘best little ale house in Bedford’, the
Wellington Arms is very proud of its selection of fine real
ales. Owned by the B&T Brewery, the pub stocks a wide
range of B&T’s own bitters, as well as a good choice of
Belgian beers. The food is simple filled rolls and the
entertainment is the form of darts, dominoes and skittles with
live music most weeks.

Queens Tavern is a traditional pub run by Rod and Angela, who
ensure all their customers a warm welcome. Food is served from
12.30pm – 6pm during the week and includes simple soups and
sandwiches but book ahead and you can enjoy a fine roast lunch
with them on a Sunday. Friday night is always party night at
the Queens Tavern to welcome in the weekend, and to round it
off Sunday night is quiz night.

Litten Tree

Tree’s contemporary and hip decor attracts the young and
trendy crowd, often looking to enjoy a good few drinks before
going on clubbing later in the night. As such you can expect
it to get quite rowdy and during busy times you’ll have to
fight for service at the bar. Music is loud to achieve a party
atmosphere so definitely won’t appeal to everyone.
The Cross Keys

modern pub is centrally situated on the high street in Bedford
making it a popular location. The Cross Keys hosts weekly
events such as Thai food on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and
regular karaoke nights, as well as a disco every Friday,
making for many a good night out.
